Imagine the ease of getting an accurate size chart for your customers’ made-to-measure garments without any hassle!
Ready to revolutionize your business? Dive in and discover how!
Instead of relying on your clients to measure themselves – let’s face it, accuracy can be questionable and folks do tend to give themselves flattering numbers – mobile body scanning gives all the precise measurements you need.
In this blog I’ll dive into the world of mobile body scanning and how it is revolutionizing the way we approach made-to-measure garments.
Imagine standing in front of your smartphone, and within moments, it captures a 3D representation of your body. Pretty incredible, right?
The 3D scanning process is quite remarkable. Using your mobile device’s camera and sophisticated algorithms, the app captures your unique body shape and dimensions within minutes.
The mobile app features are designed with user experience in mind, ensuring that even if you are not tech-savvy, navigating through this process feels as easy as pie. You simply follow the prompts — turn this way, tilt your head just so — and voilà! Your digital twin is ready to go.
This innovative approach to understanding our bodies is not just about numbers; it is about celebrating our individuality! So buckle up; the future of fashion tech has arrived, and it looks fabulous!
Dive with me into the wonderful world of mobile body scanning and see how it is revolutionizing the way we approach made-to-measure garments.
With this technology you get accurate personalized size charts anytime, anywhere, and you say goodbye to inaccurate guesswork. Offer your customers a personalized experience that caters to every unique shape and size.
But there is more. Mobile Body scanning also has a positive effect on your time, your reach and your customer’s comfort.
Say goodbye to those pesky, time-consuming measuring sessions or scheduling headaches. Your customer no longer needs to visit your studio or shop and it frees up your schedule to do other stuff.
Gone are the days of being limited by your physical location. Mobile Body Scanning opens up endless possibilities for serving customers worldwide, expanding your brand’s reach across new markets and attracting more clients!
Your customers will love the seamless experience of mobile body scanning. No more showing up in your underwear in front of strangers — they can simply make a one-time scan from the comfort of their own home.
You can even take it a step further and show your customer their custom garment before it is even made! But that’s a different story which I’ll come back to another time.
goodbye manual work
hello perfect fit
When it comes to mobile body scanning technology, the excitement is palpable, but so are the challenges. Let’s look at some key considerations with this innovative tool.
First off, let’s chat about privacy concerns in body scanning. It is only natural to feel a bit apprehensive about how our personal data is handled. After all, our bodies are our business!
The scan is processed by a third party and the result is stored in an online environment which is protected with a 20-digit password and two-factor authentication.
Your customers’ scan is transformed into an unrecognizable mannequin. The face is replaced with a plain standard face and skin and clothes are replaced by linen cloth. Only the shape of your customers’ body remains original, making them unrecognizable, even to me.
The app builder states that your data is handled with the utmost care and is not shared with third parties. To be honest, I have no way to verify this. We just have to trust them. You can find their privacy policy here.
I’ll be frank: the technology isn’t yet perfect. The app sometimes struggles to capture every curve and contour accurately. It can feel like trying to get a selfie just right — sometimes the angle is off or the lighting doesn’t cooperate! However, with some additional manual input from your customer, I can work around it. As technology evolves, we can expect improvements, but for now, we’ll have to make do. Still, mobile scanning beats self-performed measurements.
Right now the app measures only body dimensions from ankle to neck. There are no apps available that scan and measure hands and feet. I’m sure that it is already technically possible. It is only a question of time before apps like this will be available for the fashion industry.
As a fashion tech aficionado, these are minor challenges for me, but I want to be transparent and not sugarcoat things.
If you have looked into this technology, you might have seen that all the available apps have price plans that are not feasible if you’re not Zalando or Amazon. With a starting plan of $250/month, it’s more profitable to drive down to your customer yourself as a small independent brand!
But that’s where I step in. I’m thinking about launching an Individual Size Chart Service and kind of share the costs. For a reasonable fee I help you set up this service and get you individual size charts of your customers in the format of your choice.
I’m doing some customer research for an Individual Size Chart Service that I’m preparing to launch, and who better to learn from than industry experts like you?
And to create a better service I would like to hear your opinion.
